Doris Moore

Frances Doris Grogan Moore, 81, of Statesville, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Moore was born March 5, 1930 in Guilford County, NC and was the daughter of the late Henry Russell Grogan and Hattie Mae Moore Grogan. She was a graduate of Guilford County Schools and Guilford College. She was first married to the late Archie Wayne Beck, who died in 1956 and later married Charles Burette "CB" Moore, Jr., who died Sept. 24, 1983. She was a retired Nurse Anesthetist after 40 years with Iredell Memorial Hospital and was a former Department Head of Anesthesia. She was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and a Sunday School Teacher for the Adult Fellowship Class. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years, member of T.O.P.S and a member of the Statesville Writers Group. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Cheek. Mrs. Moore is survived by one daughter, Linda Boutilier (Richard) of Salisbury, one son, Russell W. Beck (Diane) of Statesville, step-daughter, Sarah Moore (Kenny) of Statesville, six grandchildren, Christy Saunders, John Boutilier, Adam Beck, Christopher Beck, Bradley Moore, Ashley Moore, two great grandchildren, Delilah Boutilier, John Marshall Saunders and Twin Brothers, David L. Grogan and Russell L. Grogan. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sat. Sept. 24, 2011 at Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Doub and Rev. David L. Grogan officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Boutilier, Bradley Moore, Adam Beck, John C. Saunders, Justin Wilhelm and Scott Kennedy. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church, 1947 E.
