Doris Elizabeth Miller

Doris Elizabeth Miller, 88, of Statesville, died Monday, December 28, 2015, at Jurney's of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on December 8, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Vester Lee Miller and Nettie Elizabeth Galliher. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Wayne Campbell, who was killed in Viet Nam and Richard Campbell along with a brother, James Lee Miller. Doris was a retired waitress and loved dogs, reading and her work which allowed her to be around people. She was also an avid gardener, both vegetables and flowers. Survivors include a son, R.W. Sprinkle (Martha) of Cleveland, a daughter-in-law, Loyce Campbell of Statesville, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Services celebrating Doris' life will be conducted at 11:00 Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
