Donnie Parlier

Donnie Garland Parlier, 72, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born in Iredell County on November 11, 1942 to the late Garland Bennie and Sue Campbell Parlier. Donnie was a graduate of Scotts High School and attends New Hope Baptist Church. He worked for 14 years as a Switchman for Southern Railway and retired from Jet Corp where he worked in the Shipping Department. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Benny Parlier and a sister, Nancy Parlier Hedrick. Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Todd Anthony Parlier (Zina), Brett O'Neill Parlier, and Shea O'Brian Parlier (Teresa); four granddaughters, Taylor Adair Parlier, Connor Nicole Parlier, Jordan Shea Parlier, and Reagan Brawley Parlier; a brother, Jimmy Neil Parlier (Marion); and a sister, Jane P. Carter (Robert). Funeral services for Mr. Parlier will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ervel Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM.
