Donnie Darnell Carson

Donnie Darnell Carson, 47, of Statesville, died Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Donnie was born in Iredell County to the late Ronnie Carson and Carrie Ann Dye Carson.

Mr. Carson graduated from West Iredell High School and Mitchell Community College. He was a discipline administrator with Mooresville East Intermediate School and was a member of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed coaching basketball, mentoring kids, reading, playing golf and watching NCAA basketball, especially his beloved Duke Blue Devils. Most important to him was his family and spending time with them.

Those left to cherish his memory are 3 sons; Dantae Carson, Tyrell Gentry, La'Quarious Stewart, a sister; Shera Gore, , 2 grandsons; Aiden Bagley, Carter Carson, a granddaughter; Ari Carson, 3 brothers; Tommy Carson, Pete Dye (Kathy), Donald Gore, Jr., and a maternal aunt; Sylvia Brown.

A Memorial Celebration of Life for Donnie Carson will be held Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
