Donald Eugene French

Donald Eugene French, 87, of Statesville, passed away, Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his residence.



Mr. French was born September 19, 1931 in London, OH and was the son of the late Clark O. French and Gladys Marie Welch French. He was a graduate of Kent State University and received his degree in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University. He was a Mechanical Engineer for Philadelphia Electric and served



in the US Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was a member of the Kiwanee's Club, Rotary Club and Lions Club. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Friendship United Methodist Church. On April 5, 1997, he married Joan Cope Young.



In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, April Holton of Newark, OH, Duon Abrams of North East, MD; three sons, Donald E. French, II of Berlin, MD, Allen French of Conowingo, MD, Lance William French of Frisco, CO and two step-daughters, Beverly Young Alexander of Treasure Island, FL and Debra Young Stephens of Summerville, SC. He is further survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Wall French, who passed away on January 26, 1996.



Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brad Mullis officiating.
