Dominick John Carbone Sr

Mr. Dominick John Carbone Sr., 95, of Statesville, N.C., died August 10, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Born in Italy on July 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Domenico Carbone and Maria Galletta Carbone. He was a proud graduate of the City College of New York and received a Master's in Business Administration from Baruch College. He was a chemical engineer who worked on various projects all over the world, including locales as far flung as Algeria and Russia.

Dominick is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Tesoriero Carbone. Dominick and Joan lived in Brooklyn, New York, Chester, New Jersey, and Miller Place, New York before moving to Statesville to live with their son, Dr. Dominick Carbone Jr., earlier this year. Dominick is also survived by his daughter, Maria Lynardakis of Jersey City, New Jersey, his youngest son, Dr. Joseph Carbone of Danville, Virginia, and his five grandchildren, Elizabeth Carbone, Nicholas Lynardakis, Dominick J. Carbone III, Victor Carbone, and Joseph Carbone, Jr.

Dominick was a hard working, loving father and husband who enjoyed the water, a good "whiskey Manhattan," and his wife Joan's delicious cooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Domenico and Maria, as well as his late brother Thomas.
