Dick Ray Medlin

Mr. Dick Ray Medlin, 74, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Davis Regional Hospital. Mr. Medlin was born August 1, 1941 in Laurinburg, NC and was the son of the late Joe Madison Medlin, Sr. and Blanche Eury Medlin. He attended schools in Laurinburg and on August 4, 1962, was married to Sarah Martin Medlin, who survives. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a retired commercial roofer. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Joe Madison Medlin, III (Eunice) of Englewood, FL, Jeffery Medlin (Elizabeth) of Statesville, Regina M. Spake (Randy) of Morganton; six grandchildren, Andrew Greer, Travis Greer, Amanda Adkins, Cas Medlin, Jacob Medlin, Joe Medlin; three great grandchildren, Landon, Macy, Austin; two brothers, Ted Medlin, Dan Medlin and four sisters, Jewel, Maxine Monteith, Connie Hartsell and Linda Grose. Mr. Medlin was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cassie Medlin and three siblings, Joe M. Medlin, Jr, Darlene Sheperd and Jerry Medlin. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church. The family will visit with friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. before the service.
