Diane Elizabeth Martin

November 19, 1951 — November 21, 2018

Diane Elizabeth Lentz Martin, 67, of Harmony, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on November 19, 1951 in Iredell County to the late Harvey H. and Eleanor Shoemaker Lentz.

Diane was a graduate of North Iredell High School, and on May 10, 1970, she married Thomas N. Martin, Jr., who survives. She worked for the Public Service Gas Company for many years before retiring and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. For 42 years, Diane provided the organ and piano music for the church and worked on many church functions, especially with the youth of the church. She enjoyed working in her garden and flowers, watching hummingbirds, and cooking for family gatherings. Diane also volunteered in her community and enjoyed serving others. She loved her family and was, in return, easy to love.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Lentz in 2014 and his wife Frances Brown Lentz in 2015.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas; daughter, Traci M. Fox (Staton); a son, Jody S. Martin; and beloved granddaughter, Jordyn Alexander Fox, all of Statesville. She is further survived by two sisters, Doris Lentz Moore (Glenn) of Statesville and Deborah Lentz Wright (Richard) of Mooresboro, NC; along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Providence United Methodist Church with Revs. David Locke, Paul Christy, and Danny Leonard officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the church fellowship hall prior to the service.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Amy Wallace and the staff at Forsyth Hospital, Donna and the Novant oncology staff at Beaver Creek Medical complex, and Hospice of Iredell County and the Gordon Hospice House for their love and care of Diane.

Memorials may be made to Rainbow Kidz of Hospice of Iredell County or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
