Dessie Lee Speaks

Dessie Lee Stout Speaks, 89, of Union Grove, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on November 12, 1926 to the late June Lee and Susan Branton Stout. Mrs. Speaks was a homemaker and a member of New Life Community Baptist Church. She was married to Roy Lee Speaks, who preceded her in death on May 5, 1994. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Evelyn Burgess; four grandchildren, Susan Speaks, Katty Burgess, and Joseph Burgess; a great grandson, Jonathan Bustle; two sisters, Flossie Bustle and Ailene Head; and two brothers, Grady and Linberg Stout. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, December 4, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Sam Jordan officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
