Derlie Campbell

Derlie Williams Campbell, 72, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Davis Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Campbell was born April 7, 1942, in Iredell County and was the daughter of Hazel Edwards Williams and the late J.C. Williams. She graduated from Union Grove School and was employed as a CNA at several home health care agencies before her disability. Two brothers, Larry and Ronald Williams and one granddaughter, Derlie Joann McHugh preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Martin (David) of Statesville and Pat Koning (Don) of Grant MI along with one son, Johnny Campbell (Jalyn) of Sparta. She is also survived by four grandchildren, John Bowers, Isabelle, Elijah, and Olivia Campbell and two great grandchildren, Kelsey and Kyler McHugh. Four sisters, Janice Massengill of Butner, Melba Green (Mike) of Statesville, Kathy Williams (Ray) of Creedmoor, and Shelba Bissell of Statesville. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Derlie Campbell will be conducted 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Salmons and Judy Ritter officiating. The family will visit with friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date.
