Dennis Merritt

Mr. Dennis Martin Merritt, 53, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 4, 2012 at his home. Mr. Merritt was born September 22, 1958 in Davie County and was the son of the late Oliver F. Merritt and Irelene M. Melton Merritt. He was a graduate of West Iredell High School and was formerly employed with S&S Mechanical where he worked as HVAC Tech. Mr. Merritt is survived by two brothers, Mike Merritt (Becky) of Stony Point and Ronnie Merritt (Debbie) of Statesville. He is also survived by two nephews, Josh Merritt of Rural Hall, N.C. and Adam Merritt (Bridgette) of Troutman along with one niece, Elizabeth Merritt Bunton (Josh) of Stony Point. He is further survived by four great nephews, Jacob, Isaac, David and Jason Bunton and one great niece, Abby Bunton, all of Stony Point. He also leaves behind his four legged companion, Ellie. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dennis will be conducted 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josh Bunton officiating.
