Denise Mccoy

Denise Lee McCoy, 51, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. McCoy was born May 4, 1959 in Cook County, ILL and was the daughter of the late Earl Hanson, Sr. and Patricia Scandland Hanson. She attended Mecklenburg County schools and on November 17, 1989, Mrs. McCoy married Gene McCoy, who survives of the home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McCoy is also survived by two daughters, Heather Hill and Chrissy Mitchell (Scott); one son, Nick McCoy; one step-son, Dawson McCoy, one step-daughter, Donna Jean McCoy. Additionally, she is survived by three sisters, Patty Hoyle, Cathy Merritt (Randy), and Gail Adkins (Carl), along with two brothers, Earl Hanson, Jr., and Tommy Hanson. She is also survived by three grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials are made to Nicholson Funeral Home, Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, or to the American Cancer Society.
