Della Biddle

Mrs. Della Taylor Biddle, 71, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Biddle was born in Tarboro, NC on March 27, 1943, and was the daughter of the late James Merton Taylor and Nellie Rogers Taylor. She was a graduate of Tarboro High School and on March 9, 1963, she married Eric Wayne Biddle, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Biddle was retired from the Iredell County Clerk of Court where she worked as Deputy Clerk. She was a member of Cobb Memorial Presbyterian Church in Tarboro. Mrs. Biddle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Della loved her family and experienced great joy when vacationing with them and spending holidays together. She especially loved hosting "Camp Granny" for her grandchildren in the summers. She is survived by two daughters, Leigh Ann Biddle Biddix (Russ) of Fuquay Varina, NC and Teresa Biddle Kennedy (Jeff) of Greensboro along with her granddaughters, Sarah and Claire Biddix and Kara Richardson. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Taylor Rochinski of Statesville, a sister-in-law, Becky Biddle Casper (Ray) of Tarboro, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A graveside funeral service for Della will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Steve Snipes officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to Cobb Memorial Presbyterian Church in Tarboro, NC or to Oakland Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 5362, Statesville, 28625. The family wishes to extend enormous gratitude to close friend, Sue Ann Ashley who was with the family during Della's passing, and Dr. Ruby Grimm and staff who cared for her for 24 years as she lived life despite her cancer.
