Deborah Ann Autrey Cooke

Mrs. Deborah "Debi" Autrey Cooke, 59, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Cooke was born in Fort Bragg, NC on January 6, 1956, and was the daughter of Roger Winthrop Autrey (Sharon) and the late Kathleen McGee. She was a graduate of Hayfield High School in Hayfield, VA and on May 3, 2002, she married Donald "Don" Wayne Cooke, who survives. Debi was a hairstylists for many years and was formerly employed with Natural Trends. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Don, she is survived by one daughter, Amanda Leigh Cooke along with two sons, Sean Israel Mitchell (Kim), both of Statesville and Matthew S. Cooke of Nichols, SC. She is also survived by four brothers, Daniel Ray Autrey of Hayes, VA, Walker Lee Webb, Jr. of Alabama, Rick Conner of Asheville, NC and Tom Hooper of Horseshoe, NC and four sisters, Denise Burton of Garner, NC, Robin Ruit of Swannanoa, NC, Evelyn Quinn of Fairview, NC, and Kimberly Fulbright of Asheville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Debi Autrey Cooke will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Bethlehem UMC with Rev. Cowles Bristol officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iredell Cancer Fund, 566 Old Mountain Road, Statesville, NC 28677. The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County and especially Donna Baggerly and Janet Bentley for their love and support of Debi over the past few months.
