David Edward Peek

David Edward Peek, 72, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.



Mr. Peek was born March 27, 1945 in Syracuse, NY. He was the son of the late Robert Edward Peek and Marion Elizabeth Savage Peek. David graduated from Eastwood High School. He was married to Theresa Luhr Peek on July 24, 1965 and they shared over 52 years of marriage before his passing.



In September of 1995, David and Theresa moved to Statesville, NC from Syracuse, NY. David was self-employed restoring classic Fords. Dave had a heart of gold and was always helping others. He had a passion for classic Ford cars and trucks. Dave could fix anything. He was a true individual and a super hard-working American. He cut all the wood to heat his home as well as his two son's homes.



He owned 10 Fords that were properly maintained and stored indoors in buildings he built himself to keep them protected.



He is survived by his wife Theresa Luhr Peek, his two sons, James Edward Peek of Statesville, Brian David Peek of Statesville, one brother, James Robert Peek and his wife Marie both of Bath, NY. One niece, Heather Peek Slane and one nephew, Andrew Thomas Peek.



A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County and online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com



David said "when you love cars, you become quite a carpenter."
