David Eugene Crump Jr.

David Eugene Crump Jr., born on January 2, 1960, in Mecklenburg, NC, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 18, 2025. He was a beloved figure whose joyful spirit and sense of humor brightened the lives of many.

David had a distinguished career as a Material Handler for Daimler and Freightliner Truck Manufacturing. His work was matched only by his commitment to his family and community. An alumnus of Independence High School, he cherished the values imparted during his formative years. David served as an EMT for many years in Iredell Co. 

David's personality was a blend of joy and warmth; he was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather who took immense pride in his family. As a loving husband for 46 years, he devotedly served his wife, Juanita Crump. Together, they cultivated a nurturing environment that allowed their family to thrive.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Crump; daughters Cheryl Crump, and her spouse Robbie Thompson, Jennifer Enos, and her spouse Timothy Enos, and Ashley Crump; as well as 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren who will forever hold dear the memories of his laughter and love. David is also survived by his stepmother, Peggy Crump, and his stepfather, Ben Smith, siblings, Shelia Guiton, Amy and Scott Dyson, Mark Henderson, and Matt and Nikki Smith. 

David had a passion for various hobbies, including NASCAR and fishing at Oak Island and Myrtle Beach. He was actively involved in his community where his unwavering commitment to helping others shone through.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Crump Sr., and his mother, Claudette Smith, both of whom he cherished deeply, and sister Debbie Bukowski. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to Anthony Natali, Derrick Friday, Marchella Castrenze, and Hospice for their unwavering support during this difficult time. 

A visitation will be held in his honor at Nicholson Funeral Home in Statesville, NC, on January 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 3:00 PM. The family invites all who knew David to come together to share in the celebration of his life and the joy he brought to so many.
