David Claytor Rule

David Claytor Rule, 51, of Manteo, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at his residence. Born in Lansing, MI, he was the son of Jon and Diane Rule of Ashland, KY. He was a self-employed carpenter and a faithful member of Manteo Faith Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, David is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Smith Rule (Sissy); two sons, David Woodson Rule and wife, Amy of Cincinnati, OH and William Anderson Rule of Manteo; a sister, Carolyn Rule Warlick of Allen Park, MI; and a brother, Bryon Kennedy Rule of Durham, NC. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jon Andrew Rule and Samuel Wilbert Rule. A funeral service will be held at Manteo Baptist Church on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Billy Dennis officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives at Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville, NC. The family will visit with friends at Nicholson Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 pm prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Manteo Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5, Manteo, NC 27954.
