Dave Thompson

David Earl Thompson, 78, of Statesville, died Saturday January 31, 2015 at his home. Born on April 15, 1936 in Jessup, Georgia, he was a son of the late John Manning Thompson and Lily Googe Thompson. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by a son, David R. Thompson. Survivors include his former wife and best friend, Charlene Thompson, a son, John Thompson, two daughters, Belinda Rowe and Audra Pina, grandchildren: Danny Thompson, Kristen Smits, Nicholas Rowe, Amanda Sadowski, Michelle Nunnery, Jennifer Keene, John Manning Thompson, Jr., Emily Thompson, Michael Conda, Kenny Conda, Johnathon Rowe, Andy Rowe, Christopher Thompson and Geneva Thompson along with 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his beloved dog, Sam. Services celebrating Dave's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Cove Church Of Statesville with Pastor Dave Porter officiating. The family will speak with friends immediately following the service. Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday February 9 at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with full Military Rites.
