Danny Forrest Mchargue, Sr.

March 10, 1955 — July 23, 2017

Danny Forrest McHargue, Sr., 62, of Statesville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 23, 2017. By the grace of God, there will be no more pain and suffering. He was born on March 10, 1955 in Iredell County to the late Etta Mack McHargue. Danny attended North Iredell High School and married Patti Hoover on June 28, 1975. They shared over 42 years of marriage before his passing. Danny was an avid rabbit hunter until he became ill. He was known to help others in need and was always there when called upon. Danny accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Jesus wanted Danny as one of His angels so he was called home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family loved him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family takes comfort in knowing they will be reunited in Heaven. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patti; two sons, Danny F. McHargue, Jr. (Stacey) and Christopher T. McHargue, whom he loved dearly and was proud of; his precious grandchild, Allie Michelle McHargue whom he affectionally called "Possum;" and his loving dogs, Tinker and Sara Lee. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday evening, July 25, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.nicholsonfunerals.com and Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
