Daniel Miles Comb

Mr. Daniel "Dan" Miles Combs, 78, of Statesville, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Gordon Hospice House where he was loved by so many and was surrounded by his family, who loved him so much. He was born August 21, 1937, in Stony Point, NC to the late Miles Tillet and Roxie Bramlett Combs. He married Joan Towell of Mooresville, on May 17, 1958. In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Nottelmann and Dana Barfield (Rodney); granddaughter, Ashley Barfield and grandson, Donald Nottelmann, all of Statesville. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Robbins of Asheville, NC and Hilda Mitchell of AZ. along with several nieces and nephews. Dan volunteered at Meals on Wheels and the Gordon Hospice House after he retired from Wal-Mart. He had a passion for doing volunteer work. He loved the friends that he made along the way and especially while volunteering at the Gordon Hospice House. A service to celebrate the life of Dan Combs will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, May 15, 2016, at New Amity ARP Church with Rev. Bob Sherer and Rev. Earl Linderman officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625 or to New Amity ARP Church, 150 Logan-New Amity Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
