Dallas Grant Evans

Mr. Dallas Grant Evans, 80, of Statesville, passed away, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Evans was born November 5, 1935 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Harry Henderson Evans and Edna Nicholson Evans. He was a graduate of Harmony High School and served in the US Army. He was married to the late Barbara S. Evans, who passed away February 11, 2015 and was a retired truck driver from FCX. Mr. Evans is survived by two daughters, Wendy Hefner (Randall) of Statesville, Nichole Houghton (Billy) of Ohio, two sons, Grant Evans of Statesville, Chan Evans of Statesville; six grandchildren, Patric Evans (Shana), Vince Cranford, Scott Houghton (Nicole), Jacob Evans, Gage Evans, Dallas Evans and five great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cassie Medlin and one sister, Katie Tomlin. Services celebrating Dallas's life will be conducted at 7 p.m. this evening (Tuesday, September 6, 2016) in the chapel at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. The family will visit with friends beginning at 6:30 at the church.
