Connie Owens

Mrs. Connie Shoemaker Owens, 92, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Brian Nursing Center of Statesville. Mrs. Owens was born in Iredell County on November 28, 1922, and was the daughter of the late Anne Shoemaker Sharpe and Joe Sharpe. She attended Iredell County Schools and in 1942, was married to Norman Leslie Owens, who died May 5, 1996. She is survived by three sons, Norman P. Owens and Ronnie Joe Owens and wife Kathryn, both of Statesville, and Eddie Dean Isenhour and wife Ann of Gastonia, NC. She is further survived by six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services for Mrs. Owens will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Shoemaker officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kevin Owens, Tracey Hill, Jeff Isenhour, Zack Isenhour, Daniel Tolsen, and Richmond Yankey. Memorials may be made to the Iredell County Council on Aging, 344 E.
