Conard Frank Everhardt

Conard Frank Everhardt, 96, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 after a full, independent life. He was born in Davie County on April 6, 1918 to the late Manuel Conard and Bess Click Everhardt. A graduate of Cool Spring High School, he was a retired pattern maker (J.C. Steele) and life-long farmer and wood worker. He was married to the late Lelia Plyler Everhardt and they were members of New Salem United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Cashion, Edith Webb, and Mary Elizabeth Montgomery; a brother, Tom Everhardt; and a son-in-law, John Bloom. He is survived by his daughters, Dian Bustle (Lee) and Pam Bloom; three grandchildren, Courtney Bustle, Allison Pittman (Steve), and Evan Bloom (Tina); four great grandchildren, and a dear friend, Irene Mayes. He is also survived by a nephew, Bill Plyler (Jan) and a niece, Dottie Conger (Jim) who lived with him during their early years. He is survived by many friends, nieces, and nephews, all very special to him. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Thursday March 12, 2015 at New Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. John Milholland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of New Salem UMC, 155 New Salem Road, Statesville, NC 28677 or to a charity of your choice.
