Clyde Junior Meredith

GREENSBORO-Mr. Clyde Junior Meredith, 93, of Greensboro, NC passed away September 5, 2021 at Clapp's Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden, NC. "CJ" was born September 12, 1927 in High Point, NC to the late Ernest and Ida Way Meredith and was a proud member of the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Greensboro Police Department for over 20 years, retiring as a detective in the juvenile division. He was elected "Patrolman of the Year" in 1963 and served on the Board of Directors of the Greensboro Police Club and was their secretary in 1979. CJ was a very kind and generous man and was very patriotic. He loved repairing small engines with his son Jerry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Meredith is preceded in death by his wife Loraine Meredith and son Jerry Meredith. Left to cherish his memories are his fianc and companion of 15 years Betty Frederick of Greensboro, cousin Keith Meredith (Linda) of Greensboro, and an extended family of six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial services for Mr. Meredith are scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday September 12, 2021 at Stevens Memorial Baptist Church in Greensboro.
