Clinton Marvin Stewart

Mr. Clinton Marvin "Paw" Stewart, 86, of Mooresville, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Mr. Stewart was born in Catawba County on November 26, 1929, and was the son of the late Ross Stewart and Vassie Sigmon Stewart. He attended Brawley School and on December 28, 1948, he married Bertha Collins Stewart, who survives. Mr. Stewart worked as a self-employed plumber and was a member of Fern Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons, a son-in-law, Danny Young; four brothers, J.D., Johnny, Charles, and Robert Stewart along with two sisters, Helen S. Johnson and Ruthie Bell Stewart along with an infant sister. Along with his wife of 67 years, Bertha Stewart, he is survived by two daughters, Kathy Stewart Young of Statesville and Susan Stewart Campbell (Rick) of Mooresville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Wendy Hensley (Teddy), Tracy Collins (Adrian), Alan Young (Dawn), Teresa Matlock (Daren) and Tammy Russ (Josh), nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Jaclyn), Jordan (Kera), Jacob, Matthew, Nathan, Caleb, Serenity, Owen, and Ava along with two sisters, Elsie W. Moore (Doug) of Statesville and Judy S. Milam (Jay) of TX. Funeral services for Mr. Stewart will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Fern Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Jesse Stroud, Conley Matlock, Eddie Graham, and Chancee Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Daren, Nicholas, and Jacob Matlock, Matthew Young, Nathan Hensley, Alan Young, and Josh Russ. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb and Owen Russ, MMFA Jordan Hensley, Teddy Hensley, and Adrian Collins. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625. The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Lamenda Cashion RN and Kim Lachina CNA, for their genuine, loving care of "Paw".
