Clinton Martin Bevis, Jr stepped out of his mortal shell on August 4, 2022 and stepped into eternity with an untarnished Christian example for all of us to follow. Marty was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama May 3, 1948 to his mother, Ruth Waldon Bevis, and his father, Clinton Martin Bevis, Sr. He is survived by the love of his life, Ruth S Bevis. There was no doubt that Marty thought Ruth hung the moon. They married in Dothan, Alabama and moved to Florida in 1977. Pastor Jerry Walker and Ruth's aunt, Ann Walker, shared the Gospel with Marty and Ruth. They both received Christ as their Savior on April 25, 1977. Because of Marty's very apparent walk with God, we will see him again one day. They moved to North Carolina to be closer to their children in 2002. Marty is also survived by his daughter, Amy LeAnne McManus and husband, Phillip Wade McManus. His son, Ashley Bryan Bevis, and wife, Amber LeAnn Bevis. Marty's goal was to be there for his grandkids, Austin Lilyea and wife, Rachael Lilyea, Blake Lilyea, Peyton "Toni" Bevis, Emily Marie McManus, Ashley Logan Bevis, Connor Wade McManus, Kade Liam Boydston, and Raelynn Karter Bevis. Also, he is survived by his great granddaughter, Samantha Faith Lilyea. His sister, Pam Sellers, and her husband, Wayne Sellers, his brother, Philip Waldon Bevis, his brother, Spencer Langley Bevis, and his wife, Sherri Bevis. His youngest brother, Derak Stanley Bevis, preceded him in death. Everyone knew Marty as a jack of all trades and a master of many. For over 35 years, he had his own remodeling business. His latest employment was making sure everyone of his grandkids were taken care of. Marty's love of people and overwhelming kindness to everyone he met was only outshined by his love for his family, especially his wife Ruth. Marty never met a stranger, and always made a point to make someone's day better because they saw him. Marty spent many years of service to the Lord as the principal of a Christian school, an elder in his church, children's church minister, and house parent (with his wife) at Malachi Boys Home. Marty was recognized by his Alabama hats and his roll tide roll chant. The only people that hated to see him come were Auburn fans. We lost a near perfect husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, friend and prankster. Heaven gained its number one ambassador of Christ.
