Clifton Henderson Ross, Jr.

Clifton Henderson Ross, Jr. 73, of Stony Point, NC passed away, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. Mr. Ross was born February 7, 1944 in Annapolis, MD and was the son of the late Clifton Henderson Ross, Sr. and Marjorie Kolby Ross. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and served honorably in the U.S. Army. On April 7, 1972, he was married to Karen "Penny" Lay Ross, who survives and was retired from Kewaunee Scientific Corp. In addition to his wife of 45 years, Mr. Ross is survived by one son, Eric Ross (Rachel) of Mooresville, one daughter, Michelle Ross of Stony Point; five grandchildren, Sharese Cromer (Travis) of Hickory, Devan Davis of Olin, Jacob Ross, Abbi Ross and Madi Ross all of Statesville; one great grandson, Eli Redman; three sisters, Phyllis R. Bussey (Buzz) of FL, Betty Crawford 0f Troutman, Fran Daigrepont of Statesville, , Anna Ross and special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Nicholson Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. The family will visit with friends Monday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
