Christopher Drake Mcmanus

THOMASVILLE-Mr. Christopher "Bubba" Drake McManus, 53, of Thomasville, NC passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2021. Chris was born February 1, 1968 to the late Robert McManus and Judith Lukhart Hayes and worked for over 20 years at Carter Brothers Barbeque. He was a very kind and giving individual and had the reputation of being a "workaholic". Chris loved all of his children and family very much. Some of his favorite things were, music, singing and had an appreciation for all animals. He especially enjoyed riding his bicycle with the boys and picking flowers with the girls. In addition to his parents, Chris is preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Ann McManus and Baby McManus and brothers Bobby Van McManus and John Paul Lukhart. Left to cherish his memories are his stepfather Roger Hayes of WV, four children Christian McManus, Chandler McManus, Nora-Beth McManus, and Hope-Lynn Herd (all of Detroit, Michigan), four sisters Anna Hardin (Wayne) of Stuart, Va., Kimberly Hiatt (Roger) of Thomasville, Tiffannie Shephard (Roy) of Pleasant Garden, and Sue Wood (Bub Ellison) of High Point, one brother Robert McManus (Jennifer) of Ramseur, childhood friend, Tim Edwards, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. McManus is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Wellspring Community Church on May Drive in Thomasville, NC with Pastor Cami Carter officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Mr. McManus' children.
