Charlotte Barker

Mrs. Charlotte McGlamery Barker, 69, of Harmony, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Barker, the daughter of the late Carl McGlamery and Helen Marie Scviderskis McGlamery, was born in Pottsville, PA on September 17, 1946. She was a graduate of West Wilkes High School and she attended the Davis School of Nursing. On October 14, 1966, she married Leon Preston Barker and together they shared 49 years of marriage until her death. She was retired from Barkers Log Cabin Grocery where she worked as the owner/operator. Left to cherish the memory of Charlotte is her husband, Leon, of the home; one daughter, Lisa B. Cumby and two sons, Phillip P. Barker (Melissa) and Joseph P. Barker (Jamie), all of Harmony. She is also survived by five granddaughters, Maghon A. Barker, Kirsten R. Barker, AnnDee E. Barker, Jaya L. Barker, and Joleigh M. Barker along with one grandson, Devin P. Barker, all of Harmony. She is further survived by three sisters, Martha M. Nelson of Longmont, CO, Katherine M. Dancy of N. Wilkesboro, and Mary M. Robinson of Purlear, NC and one brother, Thomas P. McGlamery of Detroit, MI. along with two nieces and five nephews. The family of Charlotte Barker will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 2:00 PM in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be Ben Dancy, Jimmie McLain, Mike Morrison, Jonathon Morrison, Eddie Gaither, and Curtis Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Redman, Billy Draughn, and Jim Nichols.
