Charlie Perry

Charles Henry Perry, 65, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Autumn Care. Mr. Perry was born April 20, 1949, in Iredell County and was the son of Ola Mae Caskaddon Perry and the late John Gilbert Perry, Sr. He was a graduate of South Iredell High School and was married to Verina Estes Perry, who preceded him in death on June 9, 2014. Mr. Perry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of Bethlehem UMC, and was employed with Duke Energy for 47 years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Crystal Perry Atkins (Ellis) of Statesville and one son, Brian Davis Perry (Lori) of Indiana; one brother, John Gilbert Perry, Jr. (Donna) of Troutman and one sister, Gale Perry Moose (Bobby) of Catawba. He is also survived by four granddaughters, Ashleigh and Charleigh Atkins and Gracie and Kelsen Perry along with two grandsons, Austin Green and Braydon McNeely. Funeral service for Charlie Perry will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Bethlehem UMC with Rev. Cowles Bristol and Rev. Olin Isenhour officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by Iredell County Military Burial Detail will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Wednesday evening at Nicholson Funeral Home.
