Charles "Jack" Stroud

March 9, 1934 — July 12, 2022

Charles Dwight "Jack" Stroud, 88 of Statesville died Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

He was born on March 9, 1934, to the late Bruce Stroud and Mae Evans Stroud. On July 16, 1955, he married Mary Galliher Stroud who preceded him in death on March 11, 2001. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Pete Stroud and Robert Stroud, a sister, Earlene Spranza, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Stroud.

Jack served his country in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon. He worked for Southern Screw for over 32 years and was retired from the Statesville Auto Auction. Jack enjoyed watching birds, squirrels, and chipmunks around his house.

Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Danny Stroud, Tim Stroud (Elaine), a daughter, Vicky Comer (Chuck), three grandchildren, Josh Stroud (Jessica), Jessica Martin (Luke), Samantha Houston (Ryan), five great-grandchildren, Joshua Stroud, Abigail Martin, Lucian Martin, Damien Briceno, Destiney Williams, and two brothers, Harold Stroud, and Harley Stroud, a brother-in-law, Ernest Galliher (Janice), and numerous nieces and nephews from both the Stroud and Galliher families.

A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends in the fellowship building following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hebron Baptist Church, "HB Kids" Program, 175 Hebron Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. Nicholson Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stroud family. Cemetery Details
