Cathy Wilkins York

Cathy Wilkins York, 66, of Harmony died on Monday May 17, 2021.

She was born in Iredell County on June 19, 1954 to the late John Windsor Wilkins and Artha Mae Souther Wilkins. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Messick, mother-in-law, Bernice Williams, father-in-law, Cary Williams, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Frances Williams, Elaine and Johnny Pratt and Reuben York.

Cathy was a member of Harmony Missionary Fellowship. She and her husband, Ronnie were owners and operators of C & R Fabricators, a stained-glass company. She was a talented artist in stained glass. Cathy also loved to make custom stationary and each item she crafted was unique to the person it was for. She loved traveling and some of her favorite trips were out west where they would explore for a month each time. She especially enjoyed a cruise to Alaska. More than anything else, she loved her family. Cathy was a great wife and loved her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, James "Ronnie" York, Sr, sons, John Johnson (Angela), Cody Johnson (Laura), Ron York, Jr. (Tricia), a daughter, Dawn Morrison (Payton), brothers, Steve Wilkins (Cindy), Tim Messick (Sonya), sisters, Ann DeHart (Terry), Sherry Bruce (Roger), five grandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth York, Caleb York, Eliza Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, a beloved nephew, John Pratt, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buddy & Gayle Williams, Judy and Bill Wright and Betty York, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 21 at 11:00 am at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Manners officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service.
