Carolyn Juanita Johnson

Carolyn Juanita Shoemaker Johnson, 65, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Iredell County on February 20, 1952 to the late Buster Shoemaker and Margaret Shoemaker Smith. Carolyn attended Iredell County Schools and was married on May 25, 1990 to Robert Michael "Mickey" Johnson. They shared over 27 years of marriage before her passing. She worked for years at Beauty Maid, Mack Molding, and retired from TCBY where she was the manager. Carolyn was a member of Bristol Drive Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. She loved to sew, especially creating quilts, and loved her dogs. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mickey; two daughters, Alicia Crisp and Beverly Crisp Church (Wayne); a son, Chad Fox; three granddaughters, Jayden Crisp, Nicki Jones, and Kayla Benedict; a grandson, Trae Fraley; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Debbie Fulbright (David)and Karen Lippard (Keith); one brother, Chuck Lippard (Cammie); her step-father, Lowell Smith; her aunt, Kay Ballard; and her loving dogs, Weasel and Jake. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Bristol Drive Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Shoemaker and Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr. officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 6:00 until 7:00 pm.
