Caroleta Faye Goforth

Caroleta Lipe Goforth, 83, of Statesville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on March 4, 1934 in Iredell County to the late H. Hoyle and Arleene Nash Lipe.



Mrs. Goforth attended Statesville City Schools and was married to Douglas Worlds "DW" Goforth on June 24, 1950. They shared almost 67 years of marriage before his passing on March 13, 2017. She worked for 44 years as a day care provider for children. Mrs. Goforth was an active member of Faith Baptist Church where she had held many leadership roles such as Card and Flower Chairperson, member of the choir and R.A. Leader. She loved her church and her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.



Along with her parents and husband, "DW", she was also preceded in death by a brother, Dayle Lipe, and one sister, Ometta L. Harris.



Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Tony Goforth (Sherri) of Southern Pines, NC, Rev. Douglas Goforth (Debbie) of Morganton, and R. Keith Goforth (Mary) of Statesville, and five grandchildren, Rodney Goforth of Statesville, Ashley Goforth of Apex, Kelly Goforth of Southern Pines, Brian Goforth and Brandon Goforth, both of Morganton; two sisters, Nell L. Pope and Sue L. Cook, both of Statesville; and one sister-in-law, Doris Williard of Statesville.



Funeral services for Caroleta Goforth will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Goforth officiating. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45 pm. Burial will be held 11:00 am Monday, February 5, 2018 at Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Rodney, Brian, and Brandon Goforth, Tim Lowery, Jeff Medlin, and Barry Thomas.
