Carole Louise Gantt

March 10, 1938 — February 3, 2018

Carole Long Gantt, 79, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital. She was born in Iredell County on March 10, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Jason Long and Doris Shumaker Long. She was a graduate of Iredell County Schools and on July 5, 1959, she married James Gantt and together they shared 58 years of marriage until her death.



Mrs. Gantt was a member of Wesley Memorial UMC and prior to her retirement she worked with the Iredell County Dept. of Social Services.



In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by one daughter, Kelly Gantt (Thomas Dilday) and one son, Keith Gantt (Monica), both of Statesville. She is also survived by one sister, Sandy Griffith of Huntersville along with two granddaughters, Samantha Goff (Cody) and Kendall Ashley (Michael) and five great-grandchildren, all of Statesville.



The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the ICU surgical staff at Baptist Hospital 8th floor cancer unit, Dr. Samuel Lentz, and Dr. Pam Sholar for the great care and compassion shown to Carole during her illness.



There are no formal services scheduled at this time. If anyone wishes to speak with the family you may do so at their residence.



In lieu of flowers, memorials, may be made to the family in honor of Carole's life to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
