Carl Eugene Benge, Sr.

Carl Eugene Benge, Sr., 74, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Rosewood Assisted Living in Harmony. He was born in Iredell County on November 10, 1943 to the late Carl Jefferson Benge, Sr. and Luna Southern Benge, who survives.



Carl was a graduate of Troutman High School and attended Phifer College. He was of Baptist faith and was disability retired from Piedmont Explosives. Carl loved doing yard work, especially working with flowers. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed.



Along with his father, he was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Lee Benge and William Michael Benge, and one brother, Ronnie G. Benge.



Left to cherish his memory are a son Carl Eugene Benge, Jr.; four grandchildren, a sister, Shirley B. Millsaps (Jimmy) of Troutman; two brothers, Johnnie P. Benge (Brenda), and Rickey J. Benge (Patricia), and numerous nieces and nephews.



The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Nicholson Funeral Home and then will precede to Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery for a graveside service officiated by Rev. Dr. J.B. Parker, Jr.



The family would like to thank Nancy and the staff of Rosewood Assisted Living for the love and care they provided Carl.
