Bonita Rea Schmidt

LEXINGTON-Mrs. Bonita Rea Schmidt, 84, of Lexington, NC passed away March 27, 2021 at Accordius Health in Lexington, NC. Mrs. Schmidt was born June 27, 1936 to the late Herman and Erna Hassee Schmidt. Bonita was a Licensed Practical Nurse and loved her work. Bonita adored children and taking care of them, especially special needs children. She also loved cooking, camping, and all forms of dragonflies. Bonita was a member of Society for Creative Anachronism and loved being the merchant. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints in High Point of the Welcome Ward. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Schmidt is preceded in death by husbands James Elliot Dickie and Donald Schmidt, brother Gerald Schmidt, and two sisters Lavon Schmidt and Gladys Warren. Left to cherish her memories are six children Gwendoline Roux of Florida, Midge Peppers of Panama, James Elliot Dickie, III of Florida, Violet Schilling of Lexington, NC, Donald Schilling of Lexington, NC and Michelle Bottani of Virginia, two sisters Betty Pape of Indiana and Bonnie Warren of Washington, four brothers Keith Schmidt of Florida, Larry Schmidt of Arizona, David Schmidt of Iowa, and Dwayne Schmidt of California, eleven grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
