Bobby Winford Mason

Mr. Bobby Winford Mason, 79, of Statesville, died , December 22, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on May 12, 1937, he was a son of the late Bub Wiley Mason and Ida Elizabeth Branton Mason. On November 22, 1986, he married his wife Joyce, who survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Stone and Betty Shook. Mr. Mason was an active member of New Bethany Baptist Church where he served as an usher and on the house and ground committees. He was retired from the maintenance department of the Statesville Housing Authority. He attended Central School. Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Bobby D. Mason (Teresa), three stepchildren: Mike, David and Sandy, 2 grandchildren Bobby Mason, Jr. and Jessica Rae Mason, 3 brothers: Rev. Bill, Bryant and Barry Mason and 2 sisters: Bessie Josey and Brenda Stone. Services celebrating Bobby's life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 26, 2016 at New Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason officiating, and the presentation of Military Rites by the Iredell County Veterans Council Burial Detail.
