Bobby Nelson

Robert Thomas Nelson, 26, of Mt. Airy, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Mr. Nelson was born November 24, 1986, in Raleigh County, WVA and was the son of Lavina Carol Nelson, who survives. Mr. Nelson was a graduate of Iredell County schools and he was formerly employed as an attendant at $5 Car Wash and he was of the protestant faith. Bobby was good and caring person and he was always there to help anyone who needed him. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Herbert and Mary Thompson. In addition to his mother Carol Nelson of Mt. Airy, NC, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Margie Thompson of Statesville, his maternal grandfather, Jerry Nelson (Alice) of Mathias, WVA, along with three uncles, Jerry Nelson (Vanessa) of Oak Hill, WVA, Tommy Nelson of Mathias, WVA, and Ray Ford (Sharon) of Newton and one aunt, Lisa Blankschen (Bob) of Statesville. He is further survived by a close friend, Casey Deal of Statesville along with numerous cousins and special friends. A gathering of friends and family to honor the memory of Bobby will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the home of Quentin Anderson and Tonia Horton, 121 Buckwheat Dr., Statesville, from 2 to 5 p.m In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charla Binkley c/o Bank of America.
