Bobby King

Bobby Rose Bumgarner King, 90, of Statesville, passed away Monday, June 09, 2014, at Heritage Place in Statesville. Mrs. King was born in Devil's Den, AR on July 23, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Edgar E. Bumgarner and Wave Swaney Bumgarner. She was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and in August of 1946, she was married to Fred King, who preceded her in death on January 20, 1998. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and she was a retired in 1962 from Troutman Shirt where she worked as a seamstress. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 1 sister. Mrs. King is survived by one daughter, Mary Moose and husband Leon of Statesville and one grandson, Brett Moose and his wife Maria along with their children, Sofia Grace and Lucas James Moose. She is also survived by five sisters and three brothers. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bobby King will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2014, in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gervase Hitch officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
