Bobbie Jean Williams

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Lackey Williams entered into her eternal life on Sunday December 10, 2017 from her home in Olin, NC at the age of 82. She is survived by a loving family including two daughters, Nancy Keith (Lenny) and Beth Talley (Ricky) of Olin, and son Keith Williams of Greensboro; grandchildren Ashley Talley Assal (Jimmy) of Raleigh, Kasey Talley McCoy (Justin) of Statesville, Luke Keith (Kaitlin) and Larry Keith of Olin, great grandchildren Landon and Riley Keith of Olin, and her brother Homer Lackey (Marianne) of Conway, SC. Survivors also include a large extended family of brother and sister-in-laws, cousins, special nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Madison Williams, and parents Haskell and Erma Lackey. Bobbie was an incredible, classy lady and an integral part of the Statesville and North Iredell communities. A graduate of Statesville Senior High School and the Statesville Business College, she retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital after 37 years as the Manager of the Business Office and was the owner of Williams Dairy for 15 years. Bobbie served as an active member of Friendship United Methodist Church, the Iredell County Farm Bureau Board of Directors (secretary), Statesville Christian Women, Friendship Friends, and a lifelong democrat. She was a former board member of the American Business Women's Association, NC Dairy Producers, and Farm Land Preservation. She was an avid sports fan of NC State and the Panthers, and she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren as athletes for many years at North Iredell High School, where she was lovingly known by many as Mawmaw Bobbie. She was blessed by many special friendships, especially "the girls" Mrs. Kathy Reed, Mrs. Janice Everidge, and Mrs. Tib Lumsden. She lived her life full of tenacity and with a servant heart, and even through life's many hardships, she maintained a gracious, positive attitude. A beautiful soul, her strong and loving spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched. The celebration of her wonderful life will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church in Statesville on Thursday December 14 at 3pm, led by Rev. Dr. Judy H. Eurey. Pallbearers will be her son-in-laws Ricky Talley and Lenny Keith, and grandsons Larry and Luke Keith, Justin McCoy, and Jimmy Assal. Honorary pallbearers will be the Iredell County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Her family will receive family and friends Wednesday Dec. 13 at Nicholson Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Family and friends will also assemble at the Talley home at 521 Friendship Road Statesville. In her memory, donations are welcome to the Iredell County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund (719 Turnersburg Hwy. Statesville, NC 28625) and the Friendship United Methodist Church Building Fund (907 Friendship Rd. Statesville, NC 28625).
