Billy Nelson Davis

Mr. Billy Nelson Davis, 72, of Purlear, N.C., died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Clanton, Alabama on October 10, 1943, he was a son of the late Kelly Davis and Mildred Hughes Davis. He was a retired sheet metal field supervisor and a member of Parkway Garden Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns and playing with his niece, Ashlyn and nephew, Caleb. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Bryant and his siblings: Calvin Davis, Levine Davis, Betty Downes, Bill Davis, Jessie Davis, Carl Davis and Linda Bice. Survivors include his wife, Linda Anderson Davis, brothers, Walter Davis (Jan), Gene Davis (Cindy) and Robert Davis (Teresa) all of Montgomery, Alabama and a sister, Ladean Phipps of Statesville. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Katie Cox, a grandson, Travis Bryant and a son-in-law, Gene Bryant. Additional survivors include a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tony Bunton officiating.
