Betty Summers Johnson

Betty Summers Johnson, 80, of Statesville, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at her home. Born in Iredell County on March 10, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Julius Vance Summers and Ethel Reavis Summers. Betty was a retired furniture worker and a member of Cleveland Baptist Church. She enjoyed gospel music, playing her harmonica and going out to eat. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Murdock. Survivors include three sons: Randy Murdock of Statesville, Rick Murdock (Sharon) of Statesville and Douglas Murdock of Mooresville along with 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services celebrating Betty's life will be conducted at 5:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Statesville Civic Center with Rev. Fred Legere officiating.
