Betty Rhea Sitler

Mrs. Betty Rhea Sitler,87, of Statesville, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at The Gardens of Statesville. Born March 19, 1930 in Alexander County, she was a beloved daughter of the late Howard Jefferson Barnes and Cora Zeola Robinette Barnes. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, David Roscoe Rhea and her second husband, Edwin Randall Sitler, along with a brother, James Howard Barnes. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping and time with her family. She graduated from Taylorsville High School. Survivors include a son, Roger Dale Rhea (Tracy), two daughters, Tammy Rhea Gregory (Tony) and Kelly Rhea Johnson (Dale). Also surviving are her sisters: Evelyn Marie Houston, Mary Caroline Teague and Janie Seaford Summers. Also surviving are grandchildren: Timberly Gregory and Brandi Rhea and Step Grandchildren: Savanna Parker, Kayla, Kassie and D.J. Philbeck. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Spry officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
