Betty Jo Anderson

Mrs. Betty Jo Swicegood Anderson, 86, of Statesville, passed away, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Anderson was born October 7, 1929 in Rowan County and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Maud Murfey Swicegood. She was a graduate of Cool Spring High school and on December 1, 1949, was married to the late Ernest Anderson. She was a Charter member of Faith Baptist Church and worked for TL Edwards for 13 years. Mrs. Anderson is survived by two daughters, Carolyn A. Johnson (Larry) of Statesville, Debbie A. Triplett (Jerry) of Statesville, two grandsons, Jeff Triplett (Amber Garner) and Brian Johnson (Laura Bass) and three sisters, Peggy S. Redmond, Margie S. Peacock and Nellie S. Austin all of Statesville. Special friends are the staff and nurses at Autumn Care of Statesville, where Mrs. Anderson lived for the past 2 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae S. Deal, Helen S. Graham, Thelma S. Swicegood and two brothers, Otis Swicegood and Marvin Swicegood. Graveside funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery with Mike Barnett officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. Active pallbearers will be Brian Johnson, Jeff Triplett, David Haynes, Rodney Forbes, Travis Vanhoy and Brandon Owens.
