Mrs. Betty Jean Rumple Threatte, 88, of Statesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at her home.
Born in Iredell County on May 29, 1928, Betty was the daughter of the late Jack Rumple and Annie Mae Lindley Rumple. She attended Iredell County schools and on February 25, 1946, she was married to Benjamin Jackson Threatte, Jr. who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Landmark Church of God where sang in the Senior Choir. Betty was a devote Christian and a loving mother.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn T. Stroud, a grandson, Charlie McDaniels along with four sisters and one brother.
Left to cherish her memory are five sons, Steve Threatte (Nancy), Kenneth Threatte (Donna), Michael Threatte (Deborah), Benny Threatte, and Jerry Threatte (Missy) along with two daughters, Bonnie T. Lackey (Jerry) and Jeannie T. McLean (Jack), all of Statesville. She is also survived by a sister, Eva Joy Leonard of Catawba and special friend, Ann Anderson along with 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Betty Threatte will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Landmark Church of God with Pastor Ken Hudson and Pastor Ben Black officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 am until 11 am Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
