Betty Hood Barker

Betty Hood Barker, age 79, of Lexington, NC, went home to be with her Lord as she was surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House. Born on October 3, 1942, in Bennettsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Hood and Lelar McDowell Hood.

Betty was a loving and compassionate mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished her family. She was a devoted Christian and Prayer Warrior, and an inspirational woman who always was giving and praying for others. Betty was a devotional member of Renaissance Church in Jamestown, NC.

In addition to her parents, Henry and Lelar Hood, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Christopher "Chris" Davis; and her sister, Annie Doretha Hood.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Anthony Ray "Tony" Davis (Jeanie), and Eric Scott Davis; special daughter-in-law, Brooks Davis; grandchildren, Michelle Alston (Joe), Meagan Culpepper (Chris), Mia Davis, and Gray Davis; great grandchildren, Cheyanne Alston, Caleb Alston, J.J. Alston, and Nova Rain Culpepper; brother, James Hood (Elizabeth); special niece, Angelina Warren, Mary Ann Tarbox (Jim), and Dottie Frick; special nephew, Keith Haithcock; special great nephews, Donald Warren and Ronald Warren (Laura); and other numerous great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Renaissance Church, 5114 Harvey Rd., Jamestown, NC with Pastor Randall Reece officiating.
