Betty Deal Mitcham

Betty Deal Mitcham, 78, of Statesville, passed away, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville, NC. Mrs. Mitcham was born April 16, 1936 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Roy Eugene Deal and Cora James Isenhour. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and Southeastern Beauty School and on August 9, 1963, she was married to the late Clayton Eugene Mitcham, who passed away in 2007. She owned and operated Betty's Day Care for 25 years, was a member of Taylorsville Church of God and was a previous member of the Statesville Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Mitcham is survived by one daughter, Janet M. Yeatts (Leslie) of Virginia, one son, Michael Mitcham (Sandy) of South Carolina, three granddaughters, Nicole Childers (Norris) of Taylorsville, Brandy Edinger (Mike) of Taylorsville, Sydney Mitcham of South Carolina, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Deal, Ray James, Henry Cates and one sister, Mary Deal Robles. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Albertino and Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
