Betty Ann Wilson

February 27, 1938 — February 8, 2018

Our mama, Betty Ann Wooten Wilson, died peacefully Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Gordon Hospice House surrounded by her three children.



Born February 27, 1938 to Vesper Johnson Martin and Ruben Wooten in Iredell County. She graduated from Celeste Henkel High School and was married to E. Norris Wilson who preceded her in death in 1982. Betty worked in the medical field with Drs. Buddington, Goff, and retired from Dr. Gatlin's office in 2000.



Along with her parents and husband, Norris, she was preceded in death by two brothers whom she loved dearly, Jimmy Reese Wooten and L.R. Wooten.



Surviving are her three children, Joan Rose (Rick), Craig Wilson (Carolyn), and Amy Lerch (Marc); five grandchildren, Joshua Lerch, Sara Norman (Jacob), Carson Starr, Taylor Tanner (Frank), and Cody Wilson (Kathryn); one great grandson, Blake Starr; and one baby Norman due in June. Also surviving are her sister, Mildred Price; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Wooten and Peggy Wooten; and many nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, February 12, 2018 at New Sterling ARP Church with Rev. Tim Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends in the sanctuary prior to the service from 9:30 until 10:45 am.
