Bettie Messick Miller

Mrs. Bettie Messick Miller, 79, of Statesville, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Iredell County on September 20, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. Messick, Sr. and Odessell Danyels Messick. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby W. Miller, a brother, Charles H. Messick, Jr., a brother-in-law, David W. James and a great nephew, Garrett Tomlin. She enjoyed and loved time with her family and during the last months of her life, Adalynn, her great great niece and Kennedy, her great niece, gave her much joy and kept her going. Survivors include a sister, Norma James of Statesville, a sister-in-law, Tyria Messick, nieces: Donna Tomlin and Margaret Hayes, nephews: Michael James (Jan), Rodney James (Rena), Chuck Messick (Susie), and Bobby Messick (Yvonne) along with four step nieces and two step nephews. Additional survivors include a great niece, Kaitlynn Tomlin and a great nephew, Tyler Tomlin (Ashley) and her dear friends and neighbors, Richard and Patti Cassell. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jason Payne officiating. The family will assemble at other times at the home of her sister, Mrs. James at 135 Island Ford Rd. Statesville. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
